Republican candidate for Minnesota governor Lisa Demuth declined to say how she would handle the state’s ongoing extradition dispute with Texas when WCCO Radio’s Jason DeRusha raised the issue at the Minnesota State Fair. The dispute centers on ICE agent Christian Castro, who faces four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime in Minnesota over a January shooting in Minneapolis. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott did not sign Minnesota’s extradition warrant, and Castro was released from a Texas jail after reaching the state’s 90-day limit for an extradition hold.
