Gary Wertish, the president of the Minnesota Farmers Union, explained in an Oct. 5 press conference that higher fuel prices don’t just hurt farmers, it’s hurting the stores they deliver to, and the consumers that buy their products as well. The result, he says, is a “ripple effect” where everyday goods are unaffordable for many.
