Nearly one year after former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their dog Gilbert were killed in a politically motivated attack at their Brooklyn Park home, the Saint Paul City Council is honoring their lives and legacy by making June 14 “Mark, Melissa, and Gilbert Hortman Day.”
