After losing her husband, firefighter Mike Paidar, to occupational cancer, Julie Paidar is backing Amy Klobuchar. The gubernatorial candidate passed a bipartisan law expanding federal support for families of firefighters and first responders who die from service-related cancers. The Minnesota Professional Firefighters association gave their official endorsement sharing this statement: “We are confident that having Amy Klobuchar as Governor of Minnesota is what’s best for Minnesota’s fire service. Time and time again, she has proven herself to be a reliable partner in tackling the challenges we face as career firefighters and paramedics by finding real legislative solutions.”
