Former Minnesota state Rep. Karen Clark, the first openly lesbian member of the state Legislature, died June 30 at 80. In 2013, Clark spoke on the House floor before Minnesota voted on her bill to legalize same-sex marriage, calling marriage a question of love, commitment, integrity, and full citizenship.
