Senate candidate Peggy Flanagan says opponent Michele Tafoya doesn’t support abortion rights

Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan called out Republican Senate candidate Michele Tafoya over her claim to be pro-choice and questioned whether Minnesotans could trust her to protect abortion rights. Tafoya recently released a campaign ad in which she called herself a “pro-choice Republican” and said she’d stand up to President Donald Trump when she disagreed with him. Flanagan pushed back on those claims and questioned how Tafoya would actually vote in the Senate. Both are running for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Tina Smith.
