Patel promises full cooperation in ICE investigations despite months of withholding evidence

Sen. Amy Klobuchar pressed FBI Director Kash Patel on whether his agency would cooperate with state and local investigators looking into the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minnesota. Patel said the FBI is fully committed to supporting state, federal and local investigations and agreed to provide meaningful information to the victimsโ€™ families. That commitment follows months in which the FBI and Justice Department withheld evidence from Minnesota investigators. In February, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said the FBI formally refused to share any evidence it had collected in Prettiโ€™s killing and had also failed to provide requested evidence in the Renee Good investigation. Federal officials eventually turned over previously withheld evidence in July, including body-camera footage, officer statements and Goodโ€™s vehicle. State investigators said the material arrived after roughly six months of efforts to obtain federal cooperation.
