Elon Musk’s xAI is fighting Minnesota’s fake-nudes ban. A survivor is urging the state to keep it

Elon Musk’s xAI is suing to block Minnesota’s new ban on AI “nudification” tools, which is set to take effect Aug. 1 and gives victims a path to seek legal relief. At a press conference defending the law, one survivor described what that protection could mean. She said a man she trusted for more than 20 years used family photos to create pornographic images and videos of her and more than 80 other women — only for police to tell them there was no law and nothing they could do. She said the images now follow her into job applications, conversations with her employer, her marriage, and every room where she wonders who may have seen them. Two years ago, she said, they were victims with nowhere to turn. Minnesota’s new law is designed to change that.
