Texas Rep. Greg Casar pointed to Minnesota while calling for an independent investigation after an ICE agent shot and seriously wounded 28-year-old Wilber Rafael Garces Perez in Austin. Casar specifically cited the killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis, saying previous federal accounts of shootings have given communities reason to demand video, outside scrutiny and accountability. Austin officials say Perez was hospitalized in serious but stable condition before being transferred to federal custody.
