After House Majority Whip Tom Emmer was the only legislator absent from Minnesota Farmfest, fellow Republican Rep. Pete Stauber made a shocking claim about his health, saying, “You have no idea what Congressman Emmer is dealing with right now… he is fighting for his damn life today.” Stauber walked back the comment shortly afterward. According to reports, Emmer has been dealing with a series of foot injuries that have required several surgeries.
