Trump turns Minnesota iron ore announcement into attack on Gov. Walz

President Donald Trump was announcing plans for a new $15 billion steel plant in Iowa when his remarks took a detour to Minnesota. The plant is expected to use iron ore from Mesabi Metallics’ mine in northern Minnesota — something Trump praised before turning his attention to Democratic Gov. Tim Walz. Trump called Walz a “lousy governor,” “one of the worst governors in history” and “a real stupid guy,” before pivoting back to the state’s iron ore.
